Soldotna Library to Host Genealogy and Landlord/Tenant Workshops

Two free public presentations will be hosted by the Soldotna Library within the next week: Get Started With Your Family Tree and Landlord/Tenant Law Presentation.

Assistant Librarian Katja Wolfe told us about the genealogy presentation scheduled for Saturday.

Wolfe: “It’ll be from 1-3 on Saturday, June 21, and we’ll have it in the community room and we will have two wonderful ladies from the Genealogy Society come in, and the Kenai Totem Tracers and they will just kind of give a basic introduction on how to find records and how to create your very own family tree and its kind of a basic work shop and how to use some of the information online.”

She added that the genealogy presentation would include a section on how to use Ancestry.com and the Find a Grave websites.

Wolfe said the Landlord Tenant Law Presentation will happen Thursday, June 26 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm also in the Community Room.

Wolfe: “The landlord tenant law presentation, this is something we just started with the Kenai Legal Services Corporation and basically we’re just trying to provide all kinds of different programs and this is just one of the directions that we’re going and it’s going to be a young lady named Liz and she will be talking about current issues that landlords and tenants might have regarding renting.”
