Next month, the Soldotna City Council will consider recommendations for the zoning of wind turbines within the community. The issue was recently a part of the Soldotna Planning and Zoning Commission. City Planner Stephanie Queen said the commissioners wanted to address the issue since there are no rules in Soldotna for wind turbines.

She said the Planning and Zoning Commission has held work sessions and a public hearing on recommendations. She said there has been very little public testimony on the issue. She encourages Soldotna residents to participate while it is considered at the Soldotna City Council.
