Soldotna Chamber Preparing for 54th Annual Soldotna Progress Days

Crews with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce are preparing for a busy weekend in the City of Soldotna. We spoke to January Yeager, Event Coordinator with the Soldotna Chamber…

Yeager: “It’s our 54th annual progress days. We are having our parade on Saturday the 27th, and that starts at 11:00am, it goes from SoHi down Marydale, down Binkley St. to Warehouse Ave. right there by Safeway.”

Yeager said that as of today, there are about 75-participants lined up for the parade, with more expected to join-in during the morning of the event.

Yeager also noted that the festivities following the parade are being changed due to ongoing construction at Soldotna Creek Park…

Yeager: “This year for the festival we actually are moving locations, which is the most important we want folks to know. We’re not going to be at Soldotna Creek Park this year, we are going to be over at the Soldotna Little League Fields, over by the rodeo grounds, off of K-Beach. So right next to the Sportscenter, we’ll have the festival set up, all of our vendor booths and entertainment. Our dutch oven competition will be there, we are also have Sawfest this year, a chainsaw carving competition and exposition.”
