Friday and Saturday will be busy days for the Office of Emergency Management and other first responders as the Borough participates in this year’s Alaska Shield simulation.  OEM Director Eric Mohrmann says the simulation will involve energy distribution and cold weather.

He says the simulation presents many challenges, including emergency shelter for those displaced, use of alternative fuels at critical facilities, and handling potential casualities.  We asked him what the public will see during the simulation.
