Senate Majority Discusses Energy Bill

The Co-Chairs of the Senate Resources Committee spoke in front of the media in Juneau, yesterday morning, about their work to develop an Energy Omnibus Bill. Senate Resources Co-Chair Lesil McGuire of Anchorage gave some specifics on Gavel-to-Gavel about this bill, including the commercial retro-fitting of public buildings.

McGuire said there is also a small business loan available for businesses to also retrofit their buildings.

She said another provision to the bill involved a production tax credit for renewable and alternative energy projects in the state. She said the credits would apply to hydro, tidal, geothermal, solar, and biomass.
