Following the catastrophic failure at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant in Japan on March 11th 2011, scientists have been torn as to whether or not fish in the Pacific Ocean have been adversely affected by radiation.

Sen. Peter Micciche said he has analyzed the data and test results from many studies done on Alaskan fish.

Sen. Micciche: “The reality of the situation is this, people should feel they are safe. The evidence is in, fish that come along the coast of Alaska, come back to our rivers, do not have a problem with radiation I’ve got a long list of quotes from experts I actually have the report of analysis from the test results of several companies that have been testing the fish, I’ve got statements from the state and statements from the feds.”

Micciche said he has enough evidence to comfortably say the fish are safe to eat.

Sen. Micciche: “Folks should feel very safe that fish that we eat in Alaska, the fish on the East Coast of the Pacific Ocean have not been adversely affected by Fukashima radiation.”
