State Senator Cathy Giessel has canceled planned town hall meetings on the Kenai Peninsula once again.

Giessel, the South Anchorage Republican who represents District N, which includes Nikiski, Sterling, Cooper Lading, Seward, Hope, Girdwood, and portions of South Anchorage, announced this week that she’s cancelling the scheduled town hall meetings in Seward, Cooper Landing, and Sterling that were set for March 16th.

Giessel said that her office had learned that all Senate travel is cancelled for that weekend.

Giessel previously cancelled town hall meetings in the Kenai Peninsula communities for the weekend of March 23rd.

No date has been set to meet with her Peninsula constituents; however, Giessel said that she hopes to “be back in the district soon.”

  1. I think she is going on that junket to DC – “energy conference”

She will need time to recover from that trip. Record number of “lawmakers” going on “vacation” to DC next week. Their “pay raise” needs to be revoked. What is their pay now for couple months of “work”? In the old days wasn’t it something like $25,000? Need to go back to the old days.

We already have the “Kingston Trio” and a lobbyst in D.C. It appears our “alleged” legislature members have no trust in them. This comment has been voiced in Congress before.

The “vacation-junket” is nothing more than “high living” out of our sight at State expense!

  3. She should show up some time with more than pizza and soda.
