Sen. Begich to Talk Fish in Kenai Today

U.S. Senator Mark Begich is holding a special discussion on the Magnuson Stevens Act today at the Kenai Challenger Learning Center.

The meeting starts at 3:45pm, where Sen. Begich will meet with sportfishing representatives to hear their ideas on the reauthorization of the Act.

Begich has previously held similar meetings in other areas of the state – in Kodiak he met with commercial fishing groups and in Fairbanks he focused on subsistence fishing issues.

The meetings are called “listening sessions” and Sen. Begich says they will help inform his decisions about the MSA as the chairman of the Senate Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries and Coast Guard subcommittee.
