The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services has just opened the second survey in its year-long process called ‘Healthy Alaskans 2020.’
The survey, available online, seeks to identify the most important health issues for Alaskans. The last survey, conducted in September and October last year showed some of the most top concerns as alcohol use and abuse, the cost of health care, and diet, exercise and obesity.
We spoke to DHSS’ Greg Wilkinson…
Wilkinson: “Ultimately, what we hope to look for are the top health subjects or interests to the people of Alaska, and then ultimately going forward, we would say, ‘Are there regulations we could change? Is there legislation that could be submitted, is there a health education campaign that we could do?”
