Local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America will be out in residential neighborhoods in Kenai and Soldotna tomorrow collecting food donations for “Scouting for Food 2014”.

David Patat with the Boy Scouts told us how it works.

Patat: “So we’re going to start at one, we’re going to begin rounds at one and it’ll probably take about an hour and a half. What we’re going to do is come by and let them know that we have a bag and please ask them to fill the bag, it does come with a Boy Scouts of America flier and then basically we come back down the street about 15-20 minutes later in a group and collect that.”

Patat added that there are various locations for people to donate to the food drive.

Patat: “If someone wants to do a donation or if they want to bring that by to either one of the pastors there at the Mormon church, either one fo the bishops there will accept donations there and then we can pick up the cans and they can also drop it at the food bank. They can also contact Dr. Nels Anderson who is the Mayor and is also the scout master for Troop 151 but any one of the scout masters will accept donations as well.”
