School Teacher May Have Died From Wolf Attack

The death of a 32-year-old Special Education Instructor for the Lake and Peninsula Borough School District remains under investigation by authorities in the small community of Chignik Lake.  Alaska State Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters confirmed to our news department that an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.  Meanwhile, Rick Luthi, who is the Chief Operating Officer for the Lake and Peninsula Borough School District, told our news department that 32-year-old Candice Berner of Perryville appeared to have been killed from a wolf attack.  Peters, yesterday, told our news department that the Department of Public Safety could not confirm the initial report of a wolf attack; however, more information would be released as the investigation continued.
