Russian River Sanctuary May Not Open

Those wanting to fish the sanctuary at the Russian River may not be able to do so for the upcoming holiday weekend. Robert Begich is with the sport fish division of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

He says the sockeye run is expected to decline, so the sanctuary is not expected to be opened up this year. Begich says the sanctuary also remained closed in 2010.
