Rep. Young Urges President To Fund Missiles

After North Korea’s recent aggressive statements about launching a nuclear attack on the United States, Alaska’s lone Congressman Don Young voiced his support for missile defense programs.

 

In a letter to the President, Rep. Young said the duty of a government, is “to protect our citizens from the unimaginable horrors that lurk beyond our borders.”

 

Rep. Young said the “possibility of nuclear threats [is] looming on the horizon,” making it imperative that full funding for missile defense programs continues  He said this will ensure nuclear threats don’t reach American shores.

 

Congressman Young also outline’s Alaska’s defensive role, repeating Brig. General Billy Mitchell’s words in 1935, “he who holds Alaska holds the world.”
