Refuge Being Prepared for Winter Recreation

The staff at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is working to open it for winter recreational use. Steve Miller, Deputy Director of the Refuge, said that crews are working to clear up some of the effects of the recent windstorms.

Miller did say that it may be too early for ice fishing, as well.

Snowmachine season traditionally opens December 1st.
