Slightly after 6 am this morning, Soldotna Public Safety Communication Center received a report that a man was holding a prowler at gun point.

Alaska State Troopers along with Soldotna Police responded to the call to find the homeowner outside of his house still on the phone with 911 dispatch.

The suspect identified as 43 year old Warren W. Hamilton of Anchorage was on the roof of the house, he had been detained by the homeowner who was armed with a handgun.

The homeowner, who’s name has not been released, provided a ladder for the would-be assailant to climb down with, investigation revealed Hamilton had an outstanding felony warrant for failure to appear on a prior theft case.

Hamilton came to the residence and entered through a mudroom entrance and attempted to gain access thorough a second story window after discovering the front door was locked.

The vehicle Hamilton drove to the residence was reported as stolen in Anchorage, he was arrested for the warrant and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

Good job holding this repeat offender until police arrived! The offender Warren Hamilton is LUCKY he did not get shot! Now we all can pay for his time in jail/prison. It states he was arrested for the warrant he had on him? What about stolen vehicle and attempted breaking and entering? What a joke!
