One item notably not on the agenda was Assembly Member Brent Johnson’s proposed resolution to rename a Kasilof bridge after the late Mike Wiley. Johnson said he still believes Mike was a “good guy,” but has withdrawn the resolution after finding out Wiley had a Domestic Violence charge on his record.
Asm. Johnson(Clam Gulch): “The bottom line, out of respect for the women who have suffered domestic violence in our communities, I’m a little reluctant to move forward with it.”
The Borough will also decide tonight on an ordinance to appropriate close to $13 million for Homer and Kachemak City to build a natural gas distribution system.
