Power Outage in Kasilof Restored

The power has been restored to HEA members in the Kasilof area that lost power earlier this morning.

The restoration work was completed at approximately 10 am.   It is likely that the outage was the result of a tree coming into contact with the line, but after patrolling the line between Kasilof and Ninilchik, HEA crews were unable to determine the exact cause of the outage.

Update: As of 8:30am, HEA says 500 members are still without power from mile 112 of the Sterling Highway to mile 127.5. They continue to work on the outage. The cause is still unknown.

At 6am: 1,100 Kasilof residents are currently without power as Homer Electric Association responds to an outage. The affected area stretches from the intersection of  K-Beach Road and the Sterling Highway in Kasilof to about 10 miles north of Ninilchik. Crews are currently responding.
