PFD Day Tomorrow

Posted: October 2, 2013 at 12:10 pm

The 2013 PFD will be deposited into Alaskan bank accounts tomorrow.

Michelle Glaves with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce said don’t just consider how to spend your $900, also think about where to spend it…

Glaves: “The money that is spent in our area gets turned over at least seven times, and these businesses in our local area are the ones that sponsor all of our teams and donate to all of our non-profits. Buy local, buy local, buy local.”

Glaves said business owners are well aware that tomorrow is PFD day, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a local store without PFD sales.

Lower the prices and I would buy local!

I went to look at something at a certain store locally and then went home to check the price online. It was $20 cheaper online and free shipping. But I decided to go back anyway and buy it since it was local and I do like to support my town. When I got there (less than 7 days later) they had jacked the price up ANOTHER $20. So my wallet and I made a U-turn right back to my house. I’m game, but I’m not dumb. I can wait a week.
