Starting Friday morning, Alaskans can apply online for their annual Permanent Fund Dividend check.
Sara Race: “You can go on online and visit us at pfd.alaska.gov and starting January 1, at 12:00 am, our online application will be available.”
Sara Race is the director of the Permanent Fund Dividend Division says each year the application period extends to March 31st.
While the online application opens at the end of this week, Race says paper application distribution sites will not be opened until Monday, January 4.
Race: “On our homesite we do have find a site near you, where you can go ahead and put in your zip code and it will show you any locations near you that are carrying our paper applications.”
In 2015, 676,379 people applied for the $2,072 check, the largest PFD ever paid. About 644,000 Alaskans received one.
