The Peninsula Sports/Subway Athletes of the Week program continues for the 2013-2014 athletic season for the central peninsula’s four public high schools.
Representing the Kenai Kardinals is wrestler Paul Steffensen. Paul recorded three pins while going 5-0 in the 126-pound weight class at the Peninsula Duals at Nikiski High School.
Leading the pack for the Bulldogs is senior wrestler Luke Johnson. Luke finished dual meet competition with a 5-0 overall record, while competing in both the 195 and 220 weight classes. Luke recorded four pins in five matches.
The Skyview Panthers selection for Athlete of the Week is wrestler Seth Hutchison. At the Peninsula Duals, Seth was the only wrestler to record seven pins in seven matches. Seth was unbeaten in the 113-pound class.
Representing the Soldotna Stars is wrestler Eli Daman. Wrestling at 138 pounds, Eli recorded three pins in four matches for the Stars.
All four central peninsula high schools will compete in the Lancer Smith Tournament at Palmer High School on Friday and Saturday, November 22-23.
