Parnell Signs In-State Gas Bill

Yesterday, House Bill 369, sponsored by House Speaker Mike Chenault, was signed into law. Governor Sean Parnell signed the bill at a ceremony in Fairbanks. House Speaker Chenault was there. He explained that the law puts together a group from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. The AHFC would be the lead group. Others involved in the team include the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority, the Alaska Railroad, the Governor’s In-State Gas Team, and the Department of Transportation. They are tasked with bringing back a project to the State Legislature in 2011. The goal of the bill is to have gas flowing by 2015.
