Parnell Joining with other OCS Governors to Call for More Access

At a recent conference in Houston, Texas, Governor Sean Parnell joined his counterparts from other coastal states in calling for more access for offshore oil drilling.

Parnell and Governors from Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi spoke yesterday at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

The Governors say a federal moratorium on offshore drilling after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and permitting requirements subsequently put in place, have made it difficult for companies to develop resources.

Parnell is currently the chairman of the Outer Continental Shelf Governors Coalition.
