Parnell Discusses Decision Not to Run for Higher Office

Posted: June 10, 2013 at 7:36 am

Governor Sean Parnell decided against pursuing higher office in favor of a push for re-election to the State’s highest office because he feels there is more work to be done.

Parnell discussed his decision last week, saying it came down to the fact that they’re not finished yet.

The governor says the state is on the cusp of economic opportunity for Alaskans as they’ve put in place a lot more energy infrastructure with more to come.

They’ve also put in place a new oil tax system that really needs to be walked through and worked through to provide opportunity for Alaskans…

Gov. Parnell: “We’ve got in place, the framework for a gasline to commercialize Alaska’s gas for Alaskans. In the last three and a half almost four years now, we’ve brought that strong stability, that strong and firm foundation to the economy, and I’d like to just finish helping to build that climate for Alaskans to prosper, I think that’s what the next four-years will be about.
