Parnell Disappointed that Federal Regulations are Causing ConocoPhillips OCS Announcement

ConocoPhillips recently announced that the oil giant will halt its 2014 Outer Continental Shelf exploration drilling plan, citing the uncertain federal regulatory environment.

Governor Sean Parnell said this morning that he is disappointed that the federal government’s unstable regulatory environment has led Conoco to make this business decision, noting that the federal government’s inability to provide regulatory certainty is once again reducing jobs and economic opportunities for Alaskans.

Governor Parnell encouraged ConocoPhillips to invest more in state lands to provide more opportunity for Alaskans.
