Governor Sean Parnell applauded the Alaska House of Representatives yesterday following the passage of House Bill 77, the governor’s bill to further reform and streamline the state’s permitting process.
Parnell said that Alaskans deserve a fair and efficient permitting process, one that creates more job opportunities, and that is exactly what his bill provides. The Governor also said that he’s pleased that the Alaska House of Representatives passed this legislation aimed at promoting responsible resource development.
The legislation reforms and streamlines the process for obtaining, issuing and appealing permits, leases, best interest findings and other authorizations dealing with land and water issued by the Department of Natural Resources.
The bill now moves to the Alaska State Senate for further consideration.
