In line with the Governor’s recent announcement to increase per-student education payments, today he unveiled a $200 increase over three years. During this week’s State of the State address, he promised Legislators…
Gov. Parnell: “If you are willing to join me in passing real education reform, I will work with you to authorize an increase in the Base Student Allocation. To show my good faith in this, I’m introducing legislation to reform Alaska’s education system by focusing on charter school opportunity, career technical training, digital teaching and other opportunities. And I’m introducing legislation to raise the BSA for the next three years.”
Specifically, the BSA would increase from $5,680 to $5,765 in the first year, then to $5,823 the following year, and $5,881 the year after.
