As state legislators set up their offices in Kenai, freshman Senator Peter Micciche is encouraging his constituents to get in touch…
Sen. Micciche(R-Soldotna): “The most important thing for folks to realize for me, is their voice counts. Very much. And they should continue to put pressure on their legislators. We work for them.”
While Sen. Micciche encouraged constituents to express their views, he added the caveat that for every email taking one side of an issue, he gets another from the opposite point of view.
Sen. Micciche(R-Soldotna): “It doesn’t mean I’m going to change my decision immediately. It means I take that part of my district, that opinion, and it definitely weighs on how I feel about things. I may learn some things from constituents. In my view, it’s the most important contact I get. I don’t want to hear from lobbyists, I don’t want to hear from companies, I want to hear from the people in District O, so I really urge people to call us, not only in the session, but all year long, and let us honestly know how they feel about things.”
