Homer Electric Association is reminding its District 3 members that there’s just one week left to apply for the vacant seat on the HEA Board of Directors.
HEA’s Joe Gallagher said the Board has been one member down since last December.
Gallagher: “There is a vacant seat on the Homer Electric Association’s Board of Directors, due to the passing of Director Mike Wiley of Clam Gulch in December. So with Mr. Wiley’s passing there is a vacancy on the Board, representing District 3. District 3 is basically from Kasilof south to Homer and across the bay, including Seldovia, Port Graham and Nanwalek.”
The term of office will begin after appointment by the Board of Directors and expire in May 2014. When the term ends, the board seat will then be filled by the membership through the election process at the annual meeting of the members.
Gallagher: “Our Board Members are pretty representative of the Kenai Peninsula population, which means they cover a wide gamut of expertise and professionalism, so really there’s no specific type of person that is being looked for.”
Interested applicants for the vacant seat may pick up an application packet at the Homer Electric office in Kenai or Homer. Applications are also available online here: Homer Electric Association.
The deadline to submit applications to Homer Electric for the vacant board seat is Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at 5 pm.
