Olson and Knopp Debate for House Seat 29

The Kenai and Soldotna chambers of commerce hosted a joint debate yesterday for the two primary candidates for house seat 29. Incumbent Kurt Olson and Borough assembly president Gary Knopp both weighed in on various issues. Both said that they were opposed to Ballot measure #2, the initiative backed measure to revive a coastal management program, and that the number one issue before the legislature for the upcoming session is changes to the state’s oil and gas tax structure.

Knopp also said that the legislature needs to look closer at the make up of the board of fish..

The winner of this race in the august 28th primary will be uncontested in the general election.
