Oilers Pitchers Shutout Chinooks 2-0: July 4th Game Set For 7:00 p.m. with Free Admission

The starting pitching for the Peninsula Oilers continues to impress with A J Quintero throwing seven innings of scoreless baseball in a 2-0 shutout of the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Wednesday.

 

Quintero struck out nine batters and the Oilers relievers added four more strikeouts to close the game.  Andre Mercurio drove in the Oilers first run in the sixth inning with an RBI triple scoring Kyle Hunt.  The Oilers added an insurance run in the eighth scoring a run with bases-loaded.  Final score: Oilers 2 – Chinooks 0
