Oilers And Pilots Split Doubleheader Wednesday: Post 20 Sweeps Dimond

The Peninsula Oilers continue their current road trip with a doubleheader split with the Anchorage Glacier Pilots Wednesday night at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage. 

Oilers 3- Pilots 0  Game One

The Oilers held the Pilots to one hit in game one; in-route-to a 3-0 shutout.  The OIlers scored one run in the first inning and two runs in the fourth.  GJ Strauss carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a scheduled seven inning game: Strauss picks up the win and Colby Blueberg records the save. 

Oilers 0- Pilots 2  Game Two

The Oilers failed to take advantage of opportunities in game two, failing 2-0 to the Pilots.  The Oilers left two on in the fourth and base-loaded in the sixth innings of the seven inning contest.

 

The Oilers travel to Palmer on Thursday to play the Mat-Su Miners.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The Oilers travel to Fairbanks on Friday, June 28th for a three-game series against the Fairbanks Alaska Goldpanners.

 

Oilers baseball is broadcast on ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com beginning at 6:40 p.m. with the pre-game show.

 

American Legion Baseball

The Post 20 Twins recorded a pair of victories over Dimond on Wednesday at Oilers Park.  The Twins defeated Dimond 13-3 and 12-2, both games shortened by the 10-run rule.
