Oilers Down Bucs 5-0 To Open Road Trip

The Peninsula Oilers defeated the Anchorage Bucs 5-0 in Alaska Baseball League action on Wednesday night at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage, as the Oilers opened a seven games in six days ABL road trip.

 

The game featured solid defense and pitching with the Oilers and Bucs tied 0-0 after five innings.  Nate Ring lead-off the sixth inning with a solo home run to stake the Oilers to a 1-0 advantage.  The Bucs loaded the bases on three walks in the sixth; the Oilers pitchers closed the inning with three, straight strikeouts.  A four-run eighth inning locked-in the win for the Oilers over the Bucs.

 

The Oilers and Anchorage Bucs play a doubleheader on Thursday at Mulcahy Park.  Game times at 5:00 and to follow.
