Oilers Close Homestand With 3-0 Shutout: Team Records Unbeaten Home Record For July

Three Oilers pitchers combined for a 3-0 shutout of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots on Sunday; the Oilers record their 11th win in 12 games and post an undefeated home record for the month of July. 

 

Jake Sabol turns in seven innings, recording five strikeouts for the win; Chad Smith picked-up his second save in two days.

The Oilers scored a pair of runs in the second inning and a single run in the third.

 

The Oilers stand at 28-12, the Alaska Goldpanners 27-10, and the Miners 26-12; the top three teams with one week remaining in the Alaska Baseball League regular season.

 

The Peninsula Oilers close-out the regular season on the road with a pair of games in Anchorage against the Pilots on Monday and Tuesday, July 26-27; then, a two-game set in Palmer against the Mat-Su Miners on Wednesday and Thursday, July 28-29.
