Oilers Bats Come To Life In 15-7 Defeat Of Chinooks

The Oilers bats found some pop on Monday collecting 13 hits in-route-to a 15-7 victory over the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks in Alaska Baseball League action. 


On Monday in Chugiak,  Mike Wieland, in the DH roll, lead the Oilers with a solo home run and a pair of doubles as the Oilers collected six extra-base hits.  The Oilers and Chinooks were tied 2-2 after five innings; the Chinooks scored five runs in the sixth.  The Oilers answered with six runs in the seventh; eight in the eighth; and three runs in the ninth.


The Oilers travel back to Anchorage to face the Glacier Pilots on Tuesday night at Mulcahy Park.  Game time set for 7:00 p.m.
