Ivy O’Guinn, a graduate of Skyview High School and three-time, high school track state champion, has earned Division II All-Ameriican status in cross country running following a top-40 finish at the Division II National Championships in Spokane, Washington. O’Guinn finished 33rd overall in the national championship race; and led by Ruth Keino’s ninth-place finish, UAA produced four All-Americans and posted a pair of top-10 team finishes.

Marko Cheseto, the All-American runner from UAA who suffered severe frostbite during a two-day disappearance earlier this month, has had both feet amputated, the university’s athletic director reported Monday. Cheseto, a 28-year-old Kenyan who ran to the NCAA Division II West Region cross-country championships in 2009 and 2010, lost both feet above the ankle on Thursday, according to a statement released by the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is a six-time NCAA Division II All-American — four times in track and twice in cross country.
