Offense Leads Oilers To 7-1 Win Over Seals

The Peninsula Oilers made the most of eight hits on Wednesday night, recording a 7-1 victory over the San Fransisco Seals.


The Oilers posted five runs in the first three innings, including one in the first; two runs in the second and a pair of runs in the third inning.  Mike Wieland recorded three RBI and Taylor Temple added two RBI.  The pitching staff again dominated with three pitchers combining to allow one, unearned run on five hits.  Travis Barnes threw six innings for the win.


The Oilers and Seals continue their four-game series on Thursday night, the series now tied at a game apiece.  Game time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  Friday night is Flag Day sponsored by the Kenai and Soldotna Elks, a free night of baseball at Coral Seymour Park with a flag ceremony scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
