Alaska State Troopers have not released any further information, pertaining to the murder of 23-year-old Brendan McGee of Soldotna. McGee’s name was released by troopers Saturday night, after the troopers were able to determine that Friday’s shooting was, as first reported by KSRM, actually a homicide. The State Troopers say that they continue to scrutinize the events surrounding McGee’s death and are following up on a number of leads. Because of these efforts, troopers are still not releasing any further information.
However, through an unnamed source, we have been able to obtain further information surrounding this case. We have learned that McGee was watching someone’s property in the area of Andrews Avenue for at least a week, if not longer. Unfortunately, our source was unable to confirm the exact address, where McGee was house-sitting. This source could also not confirm that McGee was in this same home when he was found by law enforcement. The news department is continuing to research this shooting to provide further information to the public, especially residents and businesses who live near the location of Friday’s shooting and subsequent manhunt.
KSRM continues to urge anyone with ANY information regarding this case to contact the Alaska State Troopers or Peninsula Crimestoppers by going to KSRM Weblinks or calling 1-800-478-HALT to give an anonymous tip. Crimestoppers does pay cash rewards for any anonymous tip that leads to a conviction of a suspect. That name is NEVER released to the public.
