National Representatives Visit Alaska

Posted: July 2, 2013 at 5:00 pm

Homeland security secretary Janet Napolitano was in Anchorage yesterday to check in on how her agency is doing in the state.

Napolitano addressed transportation security & customs and immigration workers at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. She also met with Coast Guard members at the National Guard Armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Also in Alaska this week: house speaker John Boehner. The Ohio congressman is in anchorage to raise some campaign money for Congressman Don Young, as well as tour villages in western Alaska and do some fishing on the Kenai.

Ex-representative Gabrielle Giffords is also visiting. The Arizona democrat, who was wounded in a mass shooting two years ago, aims to put pressure on Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski to vote for a bill to expand background checks for gun purchases.

Tell Giffords to go home. We don’t like her kind up here.

Makes me want to find a gun show & buy a gun. Since Sportsman Warehouse doesn’t have what I’m looking for.
