Murkowski Continuing to Question Air Force Officials on Eilson Plan

Roughly a week after the U. S. Air Force delayed scheduled hearings on the transfer of F-16’s from Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska U. S. Senator Lisa Murkowski had an opportunity to question top brass about the plan that she called “seriously flawed.”

During the hearing Wednesday, Murkowski discussed the shortcomings of the draft environmental impact statement and  had this warning for Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh who plans to visit the Fairbanks area in the near future…

Sen. Murkowski(R-AK): “The concerns that I’m hearing from those who weighed in and gave that public comment is that they don’t feel that they’ve been heard on it. So, it will be something that you’ll hear when you go up north, so it may be something that you and your folks might want to give an extra look at, and I would appreciate that.”
