The U.S. Senate last night passed a federal budget bill 64-36, with 9 Republicans on board, including Alaska’s Senator Lisa Murkowski.
Murkowski said she didn’t approve of everything in the bill, but…
Sen. Murkowski(R-AK): “I do think it’s important that we pass a budget and that was really where I came down to in looking at the meat of the budget. There’s a lot in this budget that I don’t like. But, on balance, by passing a budget we avoid another government shut-down, we avoid the uncertainty that we have seen just rampant around this place.”
Murkoski said the budget also avoids the “heavy-handed” across the board cuts of sequestration.
