Murkoski on G.E. Salmon: Allow us to Label it

Last week, three chain restraints across the Lower 48, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, Whole Foods Market, announced they were never going to carry genetically modified salmon or “Frankenfish” on their shelves.

U.S. Senator Murkowski co-sponsored legislation to require labeling of Genetically Engineered salmon, so that American consumers know full well what they are consuming, should it ever come to market.

Sen. Murkowski(R-AK): “All it does is require labeling of the genetically engineered fish, this fake fish. If you’re going to be serving your family a good quality product, you want to know that it’s good and it’s quality, allow us to label it.”

That bill passed the Senate unanimously.
