Municipal Land Grant Process Moving Ahead

The Kenai Peninsula Borough is moving forward with the Municipal Land grant process. We got an update on the process from Borough Land Officer Marcus Mueller…


Mueller: “The assembly passed a resolution to authorize the administration to peruse 27,000 acres with will complete the borough’s municipal entitlement land grant. Lands have been identified, and we have information on the borough’s website, showing where those lands are at. Our step forward is to work with the state.”


Mueller said that the lands were selected following a lengthily public process…


Mueller: “Lands that were important for community development and expansion, a lot of those lands are on the east side  Moose Pass in particular, Hope, Seward, Cooper Landing are other communities that have quite a significant impact on with this land selection.”
