Multiple Arrests Made After Car is Clocked Over 100 MPH on Sterling Hwy

Friday night, at roughly 11:50pm, the Alaska State Troopers, Bureau of Highway Patrol, stopped a white 1993 Volvo car on North Cohoe Loop Rd for driving in excess of 100 miles per hour on the Sterling Hwy, 39-year-old Joseph Brandon Maes of Kasilof, was identified as the driver.

Trooper investigation revealed that Maes was driving while impaired and under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested for DUI.  He was additionally charged with Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test after refusing to provide a breath sample for analysis.

27-year-old Kellie Patricia Lynch of Kasilof, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct during the DUI investigation.  Lynch was a passenger in the vehicle when stopped by Highway Patrol.

Both were remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.  Maes was held with no bail pending arraignment.  Bail for Lynch was set at $250.
