Mucha Top Peninsula Finisher At State Cross Country Running

Soldotna High’s Bree Mucha recorded a Top 15 finish at the ASAA 2010 State Cross Country Running Championships, finishing 11th overall in the 4A girls race. Mucha has finished in the top ten in both 2009 and 2008.


The Kenai girls and boys teams both qualified, along with SoHi’s Mucha and Melanie Smith.  For the Kardinal girls, Bailey Beeson, Kenai’s top runner, suffered from breathing problems and failed to complete the course at Bartlett High School.  The Kenai girls finished 11th in the team standings lead by Hope Steffensen in 22nd and Taylor Ostrander in 47th.  Melanie Smith for SoHi finished in 38th overall.  The Kenai boys also finished 11th in the boys standings.  Travis Semmens lead the way with a 38th place in the boys race.
