The City of Soldotna has launched their new, sleeker, and more navigable website at soldotna.org.
Baxter: “If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, it’s got a much more modern, elegant, kind of simplistic look to it, it incorporates the new logo that was done for the city. I really enjoy the way that the navigation flows quite a bit more intuitively than the other website where everything was there but you might’ve had to look around a little bit more. This one, especially with the top navigation and the drop down menus really make it easy to find what you’re looking for. And of course you can always still call city hall but many of us do enjoy getting online and finding those resources there.”
Soldotna council member Keith Baxter also said the city is continuing to add content to improve the site and is welcoming public feedback on it as well.
Baxter: “The photography is just excellent and one piece of feedback we’ve already received from the public is about maybe giving a description of the location where the pictures were taken so if they see an interesting photo then they can go to that event or go to that location and check it out for themselves.”
The old city of Soldotna website is still up and running but Baxter said that’s just part of the transition period and that will be phased out.
A couple of new exciting features are the ease of which the new soldotna.org runs on mobile or tablet devices and the use of social media tools like the city’s calendar which can now be linked to iCalendar or Google calendar.
