The dry weather across the Kenai Peninsula has prompted the Division of Forestry to bring more firefighters into the region. Forestry spokesperson Paul Pelligrini spoke to us last week.

As for firefighting equipment, Pelligrini says there are three extra engines on the Kenai Peninsula than normal. Plus, Forestry is working with the Chugach National Forest and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge to increase the number of firefighters and firefighting equipment.
