More Details Released After Nikiski Crash That Took Two to CPH

Yesterday afternoon at 3:45pm, the Alaska State Troopers stationed in Soldotna received a report of a motor vehicle collision in Nikiski at the intersection of North Miller Loop and the Kenai Spur Highway.

State Troopers responded to the intersection and, upon investigation, found that the driver of the at-fault vehicle, a 95 Chevy truck, had failed to yield to oncoming traffic when turning left onto the Kenai Spur Highway and collided with a 2012 Dodge Ram truck.

The Chevy’s driver, 18-year-old Keagan Whitcomb of Nikiski was cited for failure to yield when turning left and released from the scene.

The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to the Central Peninsula Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say that alcohol was not a factor in this accident, and seatbelts were worn by everyone involved.
