After being shot ten times Monday morning, 24-year-old Russell Camp remains in the hospital while the Alaska Bureau of Investigation investigates the shooting.
Few details have been provided by the Alaska State Troopers and it appears that no charges have been filed against a suspect but Megan Peters said there is no imminent danger to the community.
Peters: “And we certainly don’t want the public to be fearful and we want them to know that we are doing our job but sometimes we can’t provide them with the information that they are so desperately curious about.”
A GoFundMe account has been set up by Camp’s step-father Kalani Ross stating that while Camp fights for his life he is also “fighting to to be with” his 3-year-old daughter Charlie.
The page states that Camp’s recovery will be long and financially expensive.
Camp is said to have undergone multiple surgeries to remove bullets and is reportedly in critical but stable condition.
