Minor Ashfall Expected for Kodiak

Trace amounts of ash are expected to fall on Kodiak tonight, as strong winds blow volcanic ash from the Aleutian range.

The National Weather Service says strong northwest winds are carrying dust and ash off the Aleutian range and spreading it across Kodiak Island. Only trace amounts are expected.

Kenai Peninsula residents are asked to be aware of the event, but at this stage the NWS doesn’t expect the Peninsula to be affected.

If the ash advisory is extended to the Kenai Peninsula, we will provide updates on KSRM 920am and here at radiokenai.com
