Governor Sean Parnell’s oil tax proposal is being heard in the Senate Committee on TAPs Throughput decline. We spoke to Senator Peter Micciche of Soldotna, co-chair of the TAPs Committee, who said while he’s not sold on the Governor’s bill, the committee will provide limited amendments to the proposal

Sen. Micciche(R-Soldotna): “My committee is based on throughput, so I would not make the progressivity changes in my committee. Changes we may make are probably related to credits to encouraging, that are just tied to increased production, and possibly coming up with a way, to provide guarantees for the state, that if we reduce the taxes for a little bit lesser share for the state, that we get something out of it.”
